Al-Hamidiyah and Santichon Islamic School Strengthen Cross-Country Bonds Through 2025 Online Collaborative Learning Program

DEPOK — The spirit of international friendship filled the Interactive Studio of Pesantren Al-Hamidiyah on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, as students from MA Al-Hamidiyah (Grades X–XI) connected virtually with their peers from Santichon Islamic School, Thailand. Through the Online Collaborative Learning Program 2025, both schools engaged in a dynamic cultural exchange aimed at strengthening relationships between Indonesian and Thai students.
Running from 11.00 to 12.00 WIB, the program kicked off with an energetic cultural presentation from Santichon Islamic School. Their students showcased Thailand’s vibrant traditions, culinary heritage, traditional attire, and daily cultural practices. The session immediately set a positive tone—inviting curiosity, smiles, and reactions from Al-Hamidiyah students who were visibly excited to learn directly from international peers.
The atmosphere became more intimate as participants were divided into 10 breakout rooms for private discussions. In these smaller sessions, students from both countries conversed more freely—sharing thoughts, exchanging simple conversations in English, and asking questions about school life and culture. The breakout rooms became the heart of the program, turning formal presentations into meaningful friendships.
After the first round of discussions, it was Al-Hamidiyah’s turn to present. Represented by students including Ghaisan Riffat Maulawi Ardianto (X-3) and Humaira Afifa (XI-F1), the Indonesian team delivered a lively presentation on Indonesian culture—from traditional foods to regional costumes and unique customs. Both presenters shared that the opportunity boosted their confidence in communicating internationally. “It was exciting to share our culture with friends from another country. I learned new things and felt more motivated to improve my English,” Ghaisan said. Humaira added, “This activity opened my mind. I hope we can have more collaborations like this so we can build stronger global connections.”
The second round of breakout rooms reinforced the friendly atmosphere. Students discussed each presentation, asked deeper questions, and expressed curiosity about each other’s daily routines. These conversations were not just about sharing culture—they were opportunities to practice English naturally while forming real cross-border connections.
Mr. Mahyudin, M.Pd., the Person in Charge of the program, expressed deep appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by both schools. “This program is not just about cultural exchange—it is about building bridges. I hope this collaboration continues and grows stronger in the future. The students have shown that learning can be exciting when it connects people across countries,” he said. He emphasized that the program successfully nurtured confidence, communication skills, and international awareness among participants.
The Online Collaborative Learning Program 2025 concluded with warm farewells and shared hopes for future partnerships. Beyond screens and borders, the session became a testament to how education can unite young people from different nations. With energy, curiosity, and global-mindedness, the students left the session with new friends—and a broader view of the world waiting for them.
